Professor Delcianna (Delci) Winders founded and directs Vermont Law and Graduate School’s Animal Law and Policy Institute, which trains future animal advocacy leaders. She was previously on the faculty of Lewis & Clark Law School, where she founded and directed the Animal Law Litigation Clinic, which focused entirely on farmed animal advocacy. She has practiced animal law in a range of settings, including as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at the PETA Foundation, as the first Director of Legal Campaigns for Farm Sanctuary, and as an Associate at award-winning public interest firm Meyer Glitzenstein & Crystal. Her scholarship and advocacy focus on the intersection of administrative and animal law and her work has been published in top-ranked law review journals. Her expertise is often cited in the popular press as well, including with the BBC, CBS, CNN, New York Times, and dozens of other outlets.
